DonorsChoose is a window into classrooms—an invitation to glimpse the projects teachers post each day in search of support. For some, it’s eye-opening to discover that basic supplies aren’t guaranteed. For others, it’s a joy to help create a moment of possibility for students who might not otherwise get the chance.

This design embraces a narrative of transparency: seeing into, through, and beyond. At the building’s front façade, wooden battens obscure parts of the glazing while leaving eye-level gaps—prompting a kind of visual curiosity, mirroring the way children peer into their classrooms with wonder. Elsewhere, as in the gift shop, clear glass walls provide sight lines into an exhibition space for projects and artworks made possible by the generosity of DonorsChoose patrons.
